Select the language you wish to translate to. The Translator screen then displays the first question ready for translation (note that any predefined scales or lists are displayed first).
Note: The number of categories and/or scales that can be viewed in the translator interface is limited to 1300 per scale/answerlist.

The default language is displayed in the left column.
The buttons and fields in the Translator toolbar are as follows:

Finish |
When the questionnaire is translated into the selected language, click Finish. Click the Save button first to save the changes. The status will be updated in the Translation Overview in Forsta Plus, and a status notification email will be sent to the email address entered in there. |
Close |
Click this button to return to the Project Overview. : Click the Save button first to save the changes. |
Save |
Saves the changes made to the working language. |
Preview |
Click to display a preview of the question: the default language and the working language. Click the Save button first to save the changes. This only works when you are translating a question - not a code list. |
Back |
Takes you back to the previous question in the questionnaire routing. |
Next |
Displays the next question in the questionnaire routing. |
Goto question |
Select a question in the drop-down and click Goto question to display the selected question in the Translator. |
Filter |
You can set the filter in order to display only Touched, Untouched, or Complete questions. |
Overall Status |
An overview of the number of items (includes scales/lists) are Complete, Touched, or Untouched is displayed here. The status is updated continuously as you move through the questionnaire. |
Question ID |
Displays the ID of the question you are currently working on. |
Question Status |
The status is automatically set to Complete, Touched, or Untouched. Untouched if no translation has been entered in the target language. Touched if some fields have been translated. Complete if all fields in the source (default) language have been translated into the target language. |
If the translated text is identical to the default text then you can copy the text directly from the source language to the target language field. To do this, click the >> button for the appropriate field.
